Smith to play with Team WHL for Subway Super Series this week

Blazers’ forward Colin Smith was added to Team WHL for the Subway Super Series last week. The 18-year-old left for Regina Monday and will play on Wednesday, November 16th in Regina against Team Russia. The Edmonton native is leading the Blazers in scoring this season with 11 goals, 12 assists for 23 points in 19 games. He will rejoin the Blazers in Spokane on Thursday. Team WHL roster.

November Stache Bash

The Kamloops Blazers hockey club have been growing moustaches throughout the month of November to support Men’s Cancer. To find out more information or to donate, follow this link. Thanks to everyone who has donated money or bought the moustaches and underwear on the concourse this past weekend. More moustaches and underwear will be available for fans to purchase at the Blazers home games later this month.

Blazers Make Roster Moves

The Kamloops Blazers made a few transactions early Monday afternoon as 19-year-old forward, J.T. Barnett was sent to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for a 3rd round WHL Bantam Draft Pick in 2013.

The Blazers also added Kamloops native Brock Balson to the roster. The 18-year-old forward was playing with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks this season and put up 10 goals, 9 assists for 19 points in 20 games. The 6’1”, 200lb forward played last season with the Prince Albert Raiders and had a goal and two assists in 48 games. He will join the team on Tuesday and should see game action this weekend.

These transactions leave the Blazers with 23 players on the roster, including 13 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goaltenders.

On the Road Down South

The Kamloops Blazers are on the road this week as they will play in Spokane on Friday night and in Tri-City on Saturday. Spokane and Tri-City are among the leaders in the Western Conference again this year. This will be a good test for the Blazers who are 6-2-0-0 on the road this year.

Last season the Blazers were outscored 20-6 in two games in Spokane and 12-3 in two games in Tri-City. The Blazers last won in Spokane on November 29, 2008 and in Tri-City on December 29, 2008.
